Making progress, and Record Players make a comeback.

Following our launch on 23rd January 2016 we now have over 1,000 contributors and the website traffic is steadily building with a wide range of enquiries.

Record Players become more popular in Auction HousesWe’ve just completed an update of all the categories, showing how enthusiastic each contributor is for each item. Each category has three levels of interest –

1 – always
2 – usually
3 – sometimes

Unsurprisingly, the middle category (“usually interested” ) is most used; “always interested” we apply sparingly. There’s no point in indicating great enthusiasm unless that is definitely the case. Eagerness which turns out to have evaporated is frustrating for the potential seller and probably a waste of everybody’s time.

We’ve received some queries about the sort (list) process. It’s quite straightforward:

First we list the “always interested” nearest to you.
Then when we’ve exhausted those possibilities we start again listing the nearest who are “usually interested”.

So if your item is relatively specialised you may find the nearest keen potential purchaser many miles away. If distance is a problem for you, scroll down the list and probably you will find somebody closer – but not necessarily an immediate buyer.

One of the great advantages of Where To Sell is that a contributor has fast and easy control over their categories. So if he/she suddenly finds a demand for, say, record players it takes less than a minute to change “records and record players, sometimes interested” to “records and record players”, always interested”. . . . which is one of the reasons why a list of contacts may change from one day to the next.

Incidentally, if records continue their current comeback, we may have to add some new categories.
